Elaine Roberts

Elaine has been writing intermittently all her life but has never taken it too seriously until she joined The Write Place in September 2012.

She has learnt a great deal since joining the writing school and now prepares and writes novels and short stories in a more structured way. Her short stories have been published in England and abroad.

Elaine is a member of the Romantic Novelists' Association's (RNA) New Writers' Scheme and attends meetings and workshops at the London Chapter. For the last three years she has attended the RNA Conference and gained a lot from their many workshops and seminars.

Attending the Curtis Brown Discovery Day, held at Foyles in London, gave her valuable feedback and confidence about the opening page of her novel. Pitching to an agent was valuable experience.

Elaine's life has changed and writing fills her every waking hour. She has given up her day job to concentrate on writing full time. She's thankful for the support and encouragement of her family, which has helped her reach this position.

After the excitement of her first sale, Elaine has sold other stories to Swedish magazine, Allas and to Indian magazine, Woman's Era.

She has also won several short story and flash fiction class competitions.
