Angela Johnson.

Angela lives in a village in north Kent which isn't as dull as you might imagine, offering as it does many opportunities for observation of the human animal. She was born in West Wales and speaks fluent Welsh which influences her use of language.

Her main interests, apart from writing, are reading, travelling, the environment and politics. In a previous incarnation she was an English teacher, but doesn't allow this to influence her writing. She has completed two novels and is planning a third.

She studied Creative Writing at the University of Kent and was awarded a distinction. She has won the Folkestone Festival Poetry Prize and was highly commended in the Norwich District Writers Competition. One of her short stories was short listed for the H. E. Bates Memorial Prize and she was a runner up in The Write Place Open. She has also won prizes in various adult education competitions. While at the University of Kent she was short listed for the university's T.S.Eliot Poetry Prize.
