The Write Place: Creative Writing School was established to provide inspiration, information and encouragement for writers. Some of our students are published writers. All our students take their writing very seriously and are driven by the desire to get published.
Elaine Everest

Elaine Everest is a freelance author, writer, editor and journalist. She taught creative writing for Kent Adult Education for many years before setting up The Write Place creative writing school. Many of her previous students followed and have shared the success of The Write Place. Elaine also tutors for Writers News Home Study.
Elaine writes fiction and features for many weekly magazines both in the UK and overseas. Her work has also been read in national newspapers such as The Daily Mail, The Daily Express and The Guardian. Much in demand for her opinions on dog ownership and the dog showing world she has spoken on local radio and also BBC Woman's Hour. She is also a columnist for the well known weekly newspaper, Our Dogs where she puts the canine world to rights!
A New Puppy in he Family (How To Books) was launched in July. It can be fpound in over 227 branches of Waterstones as well as other good bookstores and Amazon.
Her book Showing Your Dog, A Beginners Guide (How To Books) is fast becoming a best seller in canine books.
Canine Cuisine, (How To Books) gained interest in the national press with Elaine giving interviews to journalists from The Independent and The Daily Mail. The book has been featured on radio and television and has reached the heady heights of number 4 in Amazon dog book rankings.
A New Puppy in the Family (How To Books) is now availabble from all good books stores including over 220 branches of Waterstones as well as online around the world.
Elaine knows that The Write Place is the only place in the South East where students can learn the craft of writing and become published amongst knowledgeable tutors and friendly students.
Francesca Burgess

Francesca Burgess became a student of Elaine Everest's in 2006 when she decided she'd like to take her writing a step further. She joined the management team in the running of The Write Place earlier in March 2010.
She has had several stories published in The Weekly News as well as in That's Life! (Australia), Allas (Sweden), Ireland's Own, Candis and Take a Break Fiction Feast. She's been placed or shortlisted in a number of local and national competitions, including Twyford Writers, Winchester Writers' Conference, Chorley and District Writers' Circle and those run by Writers' News and Writing Magazine. She has had pieces published in The Guardian, That's Life! and Real People. Recently she had stories included in the anthologies 100 Stories for Haiti and Diamonds and Pearls.
In 2009 she won the 'Student most likely to succeed award' at The Write Place. She has completed the NaNoWriMo challenge to write 50,000 words in a month in both 2009 and 2010.
Francesca recently completed her second teen novel, written under her maiden name, Francesca Capaldi.
